The Perfect Plant for the Cancer in Your Life

Cancer Season: June 21 - July 22

Caribbean Tree Cactus

Cancer season brings lots of emotions as those earthly beings who are classified under this water sign are extremely intuitive and lead with their hearts over their heads. These homebodies love the comfort of the familiar, they don’t like change and are drawn to stability and routine. Knowing what to expect brings them peace and they tend to be quite a bit less experimental than most of the other Zodiac signs. With an attraction to the past, a Cancer loves to keep traditions alive and their family-oriented nature means they have a deep love for those closest to them, whether that be a best friend or family member. A happy home means a happy Cancer so why not outfit it with some beautiful houseplants?

Prickly Pear Cactus

Although it might seem like an unlikely pairing, prickly Cacti make a suitable partner to the sentimental Cancer as underneath either of their outer shells lies something incredibly beautiful and nurturing, despite their tough exteriors. Both are persistent beings with the ability to survive in harsh conditions yet hold incredible wisdom and nurturing power. Cacti symbolize uniqueness and individuality, they are a call to let the Cancer’s true inner self shine and to let themselves be heard and known. This, along with the fact that Cacti hold everlasting memories and traditions beneath their distinctive spines, makes them very attractive to the Cancer who enjoys reminiscing on old stories and art forms.

🌵

As people who love to know what is going to happen, Cancers should love any variety of Cacti as they are slow growers but won’t offer up too many surprises as long as they receive appropriate levels of light and moisture.

The Cactus has long been deemed as one of the most uninviting plants in the natural kingdom but we feel that this is a missed opportunity as they hold incredibly ancient wisdom beneath their thorns. Even though they tend to have those prickly spines covering them, they are symbols of endurance and perseverance, living and thriving in conditions that many other plants are unable to. Cacti occur in a wide range of shapes and sizes, some living in humid environments but the majority existing in dry conditions with extreme droughts. To keep your plant happy, place it in your sunniest window where it will receive 6-8 hours of direct sunlight and water your plant fully when the soil is fully dry, but don’t water it too early as it is very important that their soil dries out in between waterings.
