Calathea Orbifolia is a gem amongst foliage plants. This hard to find Calathea has broad bright green leaves, delicately striped with silvery-blue patterning that looks almost metallic. Their oversized leaves are striped with silvery bands that are tastefully beautiful in a simple way. Elegant and understated, this Calathea is prized for its round leaves which grow quite wide as the plant matures. The new leaves emerge beautifully from the center of the plant, which grows densely and can get rather large for Calathea - up to 2.5' tall and wide, with leaves stretching over 8".

They do not need to see the sun directly. But filtered sunlight through glass is fine. Keep them away from intense direct sun.

They thrive in medium to bright light, but can tolerate low light. A good medium-light place in your home would be in the middle of a room that has a regular size window. They can be placed anywhere between the middle of the room and the window.

Allow the soil to dry out halfway before watering. Typically when you see the surface of the soil is dry, it's safe to give them water.

They like a high humidity environment, give them a mist regularly. Alternatively, you can put them around a humidifier. It doesn't mean they'll die if they don't get enough humidity, they may get some crunch edges or yellow rims if they don't have enough humidity but will survive.

Calathea Orbifolia is sensitive to environmental stress and prone to occasional brown edges/spotting on leaves. Keep guarded against direct sun and mist regularly or keep on a pebble tray to increase humidity.

The plant comes with a default nursery pot. The nursery pot is usually 0.5" - 1" smaller than stated to fit into the same size decorative pot. Washable Paper Planter Bags are sold separately.
