Crassula ovata, commonly known as jade plant, lucky plant, is a succulent plant with small pink or white flowers that is native to South Africa. The name Crassula was given to this group of succulent plants because they have thick leaves and stems as a way of storing water – a necessary resource in hot desert plains. The Jade, in particular, is known for its upright, tree-like appearance and glossy green, spoon-shaped leaves. Positioned in bright light, the leaves can develop a red hue around their edges.

They love direct suns, but they'll also do well in indirect bright lights.

The minimum light requirement for them is 0 - 3 feet away from the nearest light source. A good bright place inside your home would be on the window sill or a stool that right next to a window.

They like the soil to be completely dry before the next watering. That usually takes about two weeks in an average home environment. It may vary depends on your environment and light condition, but for them, it's always safer to underwater or water when you see signs of lack of water like floppy, droop, or soft leaves.

They can live in any humidity condition.

As with all succulents, overwatering is sure to be fatal, so err on the side of too dry rather than too wet. Never let your jade plant sit in water. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes.
