Schefflera Arboricola Variegata, also known as the variegated umbrella tree, with a dwarf suffix attached to it for one variety. It also bears the names of the octopus tree and parasol plant. It is an adorable pet for your floral collection, and an amateur gardener’s most obedient subject, the umbrella tree is the houseplant you didn’t know you wanted, but a houseplant you deserve to take care of.

They should not be in a position to see the sun directly, although early morning or late evening sun is fine. Filtered sunlight through a sheer curtain is best and most homes are comprised primarily of indirect sunlight. The best spot for them is where they do not see the sun during the majority of the day but still get bright, indirect light.

They will thrive in medium to bright light, but also can tolerate low light. A good medium-light place in your home would be in the middle of a room that has a regular size window. They can be placed almost anywhere in the room but remember, plants will grow based on how much light they receive.

Allow the top quarter of the soil to dry before watering again. This usually takes about 3 - 4 days in an average home environment. It will vary depending on the time of year, your environment and lighting conditions.

They can live in any average home humidity condition and are fairly hardy.

It can survive in lower light spaces provided there is some source of natural light, but the watering will need to be reduced to prevent overwatering as the risk is heightened when the plant has access to less light and is less productive.

The plant comes with a default nursery pot. The nursery pot is usually 0.5" - 1" smaller than stated to fit into the same size decorative pot. Washable Paper Planter Bags are sold separately.

More importantly, if you have questions about your plant at any point or just not sure if it is doing something good or bad, simply contact us through Instagram @jomostudio or email us at help@jomostudio.com, we will guide you to the right direction. The lifetime support ends if the plant is not alive anymore, and the support does not include the replacement of dead plants.
