I had my very first experience purchasing plants online. What a great experience! The process was smooth and easy to follow. There is a ton of valuable information about the plants and care instructions. And the plants! They are lush, full, very green, very healthy.

For years I’ve been buying plants from random street markets and grocery stores. Despite my best efforts they have never thrived! I got three plants from here in winter of 2024 and with the same effort, they have doubled in size.

bright room doesn’t necessarily mean bright light. and this one thing explains a lot of struggling plants🌿

two plants in the same room can have completely different experiences depending on how close they are to the window (and to the sunlight). one is going to have enough energy to grow and thrive. the other might be quietly running low, growing slower, stretching toward light it can’t quite reach, producing smaller leaves.

this is important because light is how your plant makes energy. so less light me
we blinked and it was over🌿

#PlantSwapTO 2026 in less than 15 seconds. plants arriving, new ones going home, and a whole lot of good energy in between.

thank you to every single person who came out, swapped, and made this one of our favourite days of the year.

can’t wait to see you next year💚
if you’ve been meaning to repot a plant all summer... do it now 🌿

fall in Toronto is basically a two week heads up before winter arrives. and once the days get shorter, the light gets weaker — which is exactly what your plant needs to recover from the stress of being repotted.

even moving into a slightly bigger pot disturbs roots. some get damaged in the process. and healing from that takes energy. in summer, there’s plenty of light to fuel that recovery. right now, that window is closing.

if you’re gro
this plant seems to be everywhere. and it goes by many names (pilea, coin plant, UFO plant, pancake plant, chinese money plant)

⭐️the reason why it’s everywhere? it clones itself constantly, no seeds required. one healthy pilea can realistically produce enough pups to gift to your entire friend group within a year.

so if someone’s ever randomly handed you one… now you know why.

you don’t need to become a plant person. you just need one plant🌿

getting a plant can feel like a whole commitment. thinking you need to learn about soil types, watering schedules, lighting types, and fertilizer ratios before you’re allowed to have one. so you just… don’t get a plant at all.

but here’s the thing. some plants are so easy that the correct care is actually leaving them alone. just water it when the soil is dry, and put it somewhere with some sunlight. that’s it.

start with one! come find y
🪴meet the plant that skipped soil entirely.

air plants get everything they need, water, nutrients, straight from the air through their leaves. no pot required.

which means you can stick one anywhere. shelf, driftwood, tiny glass orb, hanging by the window. just soak it every 1–2 weeks and it’s happy.

good plant care is mostly just good observation. 🌿

not a perfect schedule. not memorizing every care tip. just paying attention and noticing what your plant looks like when it’s happy, and catching something early when it isn’t.

when we share a method or a tip, what we actually want you to take away isn’t the rule. it’s the thinking behind it. because once the why clicks, you stop second-guessing and start trusting what you’re seeing.

good observation leads to good instincts! and that’s what we’re here
🌵these are all technically the same plant.

🤠every single one is solving the exact same problem — how to survive almost no water, brutal heat, and nowhere to hide. but instead of landing on one answer, they evolved into thousands of them.

most cacti actually grow way slower than people expect. a golden barrel can take years to grow just a few inches. so if yours looks the same as last summer, it’s probably fine. it’s just being a cactus.

sorry Tom Holland, there’s a new curl icon in town🌀🫪

🪴✨the Albuca Spiralis — aka the Frizzle Sizzle — is a South African succulent with naturally curly foliage, fragrant yellow blooms, and it’s easy to care for.

it’s in the shop now (but it won’t be there forever), so come snag one for yourself 🌿

🌆more than half of toronto lives without a backyard.

just glass, concrete, and more glass. so maybe it’s not a coincidence that more of us are filling our windowsills with plants instead.

it’s not about trends. it’s about having one thing in your space that’s actually alive.

toronto doesn’t just need more plants. it needs a reason to slow down. and you know, houseplants are a great place to start🙂‍↕️

if you’re unsure whether to water your plant today and here’s why💧

underwatering and overwatering both stress your plant, but they’re not equal. underwatering causes wilting and crispy leaves — dramatic, stressful to look at, but usually reversible. give it a good drink and most plants bounce right back.

🌿 overwatering is a different story. roots that sit in wet soil can’t breathe. they suffocate. they rot. and the damage happens underground, slowly, invisibly. by the time your plant’s leaves are yellow
