ZZ Plant Zenzi offers compact, dense foliage for a desk with suitable light. Jade Pothos can trail from a shelf, while Laurentii Snake Plant adds upright leaves in a narrower space. They can grow under suitable artificial light, but a windowless office is not automatically bright enough for a plant. Light intensity at the leaves, distance from the fixture and daily operating hours all matter. ZZ, Snake Plants and some Dracaena tolerate lower light, while a grow light can help where ceiling lighting is too weak or switches off frequently. No living plant is a permanent solution for a completely dark corner.

A short closure is usually manageable for a plant suited to the space, but plan for light, temperature and watering during longer absences. ZZ and Snake Plants dry fully between waterings and can be easier to coordinate than thirstier plants. Do not soak every pot before leaving: check the soil first. Arrange a responsible person for longer breaks and make sure timers or building controls do not leave plants without adequate light.

Give one person responsibility and keep a simple record so colleagues do not water the same plant twice. Check soil moisture before watering and follow the individual care guide: ZZ and Snake Plants dry fully, while Chinese Evergreen Silver Bay prefers watering after the top half dries. Drain excess water away from desks and electronics, and keep plants out of direct heating or air-conditioning airflow.
