The Perfect Plant for the Libra in Your Life

Libra Season: September 23 - October 22

Monstera Deliciosa

Just like the scales that this Zodiac sign represents, the season of balance is upon us with the arrival of the Libra season. Librans are an extroverted, cozy, and friendly class of people, their vast stores of charm, intelligence, frankness, persuasion, and seamless connectivity help them to achieve peace and harmony, which is their primary concern in life. They are well-equipped to do so and are diplomatic in all of their decisions. Striving to keep everyone around them happy and content, Librans don’t tend to be too demanding in their own needs. Honour and respect are extremely important to them so, when those are present, a Libra will be peaceful and adaptable.

As socialites who enjoy more sophisticated activities, such as a day at the museum or theatre, Librans are fascinated with art and beautiful things and the long history of the Monstera Deliciosa, along with its impressive foliage, makes them the perfect plant and plant parent pairing. A Monstera’s symmetrically split leaves speak right to the heart of Libra’s need for balance, not to mention their superior taste in aesthetics. Its unique foliage also makes a great conversation starter for invited guests, which is a frequent occurrence in the home of this extroverted air sign.

△ Younger Monstera Deliciosa

The Monstera Deliciosa, also known as the Split Leaf Philodendron, is native to Central America and is actually a vining plant, although it will take some time for this to happen. In its juvenile years, the leaves will be solid without any splits but, as the plant develops and matures, more and more splits and holes will eventually form! Just be sure to keep your plant in plenty of bright, indirect light, such as a large East or West facing window, watering the plant fully when the soil is almost dry. You may even want to provide your plant with a moss pole, such as our JOMO Extendable Moss Pole, to encourage larger, split leaves a little bit quicker.

🪜

The Monstera produces aerial roots on its main vines, which allow the plant to collect nutrients and moisture from the air surrounding them! There is no need to remove them as your plant can even use them to climb their support.

With a penchant for the more distinguished things in life, the Monstera Deliciosa should be just the thing to wet the whistle of a Libran. Check out our complete Monstera Care Guide and pick up a plant for your Libra loved ones today - we know they won’t be disappointed!
