Crassula ovata, commonly known as the jade plant, lucky plant, is a succulent plant with small pink or white flowers that is native to South Africa. The name Crassula was given to this group of succulent plants because they have thick leaves and stems as a way of storing water – a necessary resource in hot desert plains. The Jade, in particular, is known for its upright, tree-like appearance and glossy green, spoon-shaped leaves. Positioned in bright light, the leaves can develop a red hue around their edges.
As with all living things, no two plants are alike. There is some natural variation in size, shape, and characteristics. We make every effort to bring you a plant that as closely as possible matches the plant as it appears on our website, in the size you have chosen, and have a good potential to happily grow in your home.
