Alocasia Dark Star features big, beautiful heart-shaped emerald-green leaves. The veins are prominent and become dark purple as the leaves age. Stems are upright and also dark purple. It is a cross of four different elephant ear varieties, selected with the goal of creating a hybrid that combines impressive size with improved cold tolerance. It can reach 6 feet high, with leaves up to 5 feet wide. Alocasia is toxic to both people and animals, so not to be ingested.

They do not need to see the sun directly. But filtered sunlight through glass is fine. Keep them away from intense direct sun.
The like bright indirect sunlight, but can also grow in medium light situations. A good bright place inside your home would be on the window sill or a stool that right next to a window.
This plant likes to be consistently moist, but not soggy. Water thoroughly when the surface of the soil is dry. Give it a water when you see the surface of the soil is dry.
They like a high humidity environment, give them a mist regularly. Alternatively, you can put them around a humidifier. It doesn't mean they'll die if they don't get enough humidity, they may get some crunch edges or yellow rims if they don't have enough humidity but will survive.
Alocasia can be propagated in water because of its semi-aquatic, swamp-dwelling ancestors. During the plant’s dormancy, move it to somewhere warm and reduce your watering until it starts growing again in spring.
