Native to Paraguay and Argentina, this species is noted for its dark purple to almost black surface and distinctive geometric ribs. What makes 'Daydream' particularly appealing are its mutant strains that lack chlorophyll, displaying vivid colours such as red, orange, or yellow. These colourful mutants are unable to synthesize their own food due to the lack of chlorophyll, so they are commonly grafted onto another cactus species, typically Hylocereus, which provides the necessary chlorophyll through its roots.

What to expect

The plant comes with a default nursery pot. The nursery pot is usually 0.5" - 1" smaller than stated to fit into the same size decorative pot. Washable Paper Planter Bags are sold separately.
