Philodendron Congo Green

$100

Philodendron Congo Green is an attractive warm weather plant that produces showy flowers and interesting leaves. Native to South America, the Congo Rojo is different from many other philodendrons in that it doesn’t have a climbing or vining habit. The Green Congo's large, lush leaves not only makes a statement in any area, but instantly adds that jungle vibe. As the plant grows, its leaves spread outwards and the stiff stems keep the leaves and plant upright and elegant looking.

They do not need to see the sun directly. But filtered sunlight through glass is fine. The best spot for them is where they do not see the sun during the majority of the day, like somewhere shady outside or inside behind a window.
The minimum light requirement for them is 3 - 6 feet away from the nearest light source. A good medium-light place in your home would be in the middle of a room that has a regular size window. They can be placed anywhere between the middle of the room and the window.
They need to be watered when the first 1 - 2 inches of soil is dry. That usually takes about 1 week in an average home environment. It may vary depends on your environment and light condition, but it's always safer to underwater or give the soil a check before you do the watering.
They like a little bit of humidity, give them a mist every 2 - 3 days.
Allow the soil to dry out between watering during the winter seasons.
The plant comes with a default nursery pot. The nursery pot is usually 0.5" - 1" smaller than stated to fit into the same size decorative pot. Washable Paper Planter Bags are sold separately.
As with all living things, no two plants are alike. There is some natural variation in size, shape, and characteristics. We make every effort to bring you a plant that as closely as possible matches the plant as it appears on our website, in the size you have chosen, and have a good potential to happily grow in your home.
