String of Pickles

Senecio Herreianus Purple Flush, aka Othonna Capensis, String of Pickles, Little Pickles, or Ruby Necklace, is a trailing succulent that has a purple stem with green tubes that look like little pickles. If happily stressed, the leaves turn a purplish red. Watch for yellow flowers through the Spring, Summer, and Fall months.

They love direct suns, but they'll also do well in indirect lights. Don't switch them suddenly from indirect to direct, they'll get a sunburn. Introduce them to direct sun gradually during the warm months.
The minimum light requirement for them is 0 - 3 feet away from the nearest light source. A good bright place inside your home would be on the window sill or a stool that is right next to a window.
They like the soil to be completely dry before the next watering. That usually takes about two weeks in an average home environment. It may vary depends on your environment and light condition, but for them, it's always safer to underwater or water when you see signs of lack of water like floppy, droop, or soft leaves.
Their humidity requirement is low. So do not mist them or put them in an aquarium.
The string of Pickles propagates via clippings. Allow the cut end to callous over and insert into the dirt.
The plant comes with a default nursery pot. The nursery pot is usually 0.5" - 1" smaller than stated to fit into the same size decorative pot. Washable Paper Planter Bags are sold separately.
As with all living things, no two plants are alike. There is some natural variation in size, shape, and characteristics. We make every effort to bring you a plant that as closely as possible matches the plant as it appears on our website, in the size you have chosen, and have a good potential to happily grow in your home.
