Episcia Silver Sheen

Episcia Silver Sheen, aka Episcia Cupreata Silver Sheen, is a type of Gesneriad that has silver leaves with a bronze band and bronze blotches along the leaf margin. Origin from Central and South America but related to the African Violet, they are able to bloom just about all year long when well cared for indoors and can add colour to some dreary winter days. They are also called the “Flame Violet” due to their bright red-orange blossoms.

They do not need to see the sun directly. But filtered sunlight through glass is fine. Keep them away from intense direct sun.
They like bright indirect sunlight, but can also grow in medium light situations. A good bright place inside your home would be on the window sill or a stool right next to a window.
This plant likes to be consistently moist, but not soggy. Give it water when you see the surface of the soil is dry.
They like a high humidity environment. It doesn't mean they'll die if they don't get enough humidity, they may get some crunch edges or yellow rims if they don't have enough humidity but will survive.
The velvety leaves of Episcia flame violet houseplants do not take well to misting or any contact with water. Instead, provide humidity with a pebble tray or a humidifier in the area.
The plant comes with a default nursery pot. The nursery pot is usually 0.5" - 1" smaller than stated to fit into the same size decorative pot. Washable Paper Planter Bags are sold separately.
As with all living things, no two plants are alike. There is some natural variation in size, shape, and characteristics. We make every effort to bring you a plant that as closely as possible matches the plant as it appears on our website, in the size you have chosen, and have a good potential to happily grow in your home.
