Maranta Green Prayer Plant

$30

Maranta leuconeura ‘Kerchoveana’ aka Maranta Green, commonly known as Prayer Plant, Herringbone Plant, Maranta Prayer Plant. It is a pet-friendly prayer plant known for its dramatic foliage. Native to the tropical forests of Brazil, the maranta is most at home in indirect bright light and slightly higher humidity. The leaves are green and have purple markings between the veins. The veins are less prominent in this variety and it is noted for its large green spots which resemble animal tracks (hence the common name of “rabbit track plant”).

They do not need to see the sun directly. But filtered sunlight through glass is fine. Keep them away from intense direct sun.
They thrive in medium to bright light, but can tolerate low light. A good medium-light place in your home would be in the middle of a room that has a regular size window. They can be placed anywhere between the middle of the room and the window.
Allow the soil to dry out halfway before watering. Typically when you see the surface of the soil is dry, it's safe to give them a water.
They like a high humidity environment, give them a mist regularly. Alternatively, you can put them around a humidifier. It doesn't mean they'll die if they don't get enough humidity, they may get some crunch edges or yellow rims if they don't have enough humidity but will survive.
If your maranta fades in color or becomes washed out, it might be receiving too much direct sun.
The plant comes with a default nursery pot. Washable Paper Planter Bags are sold separately.
