Tradescantia Fluminensis Lavender, is a fast growing trailing plant loved for its soft pastel foliage and delicate cascading habit. Its small, pointed leaves are beautifully striped and splashed in shades of green, cream, pale pink, and lavender, creating a light, colourful appearance along slender stems. Compared with Tradescantia Nanouk, Tradescantia Fluminensis Lavender has noticeably smaller leaves and thinner, longer stems that quickly spill over the edges of pots and hanging baskets.

What to expect

The plant comes with a default nursery pot. The nursery pot is usually 0.5" - 1" smaller than stated to fit into the same size decorative pot. Washable Paper Planter Bags are sold separately.

Delivered with care

All of our plants are delivered by our human plant expert in person. We will send you a delivery confirmation once your delivery is scheduled. And you'll also get a text message with a tracking link when your plants are out for delivery and on arrival.

Shipping in a Box

All Provinces

All of our 7" and smaller size plants and planters are now available to ship in a box across all provinces in Canada: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.**

We post our mails on Mondays(or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday) using mixed carriers(Canada Post/UPS/FedEx), the cut off time is Saturday midnight, order placed after that will ship out on the Monday after, so please keep that in mind when you place your order. We do this to avoid the order sitting in a post office over the weekend, however, this may still happen from time to time. To prepare an order, we pack up the plants with great care, ensuring as much as possible that they will have a secure and smooth delivery. Once you receive your tracking link from Canada Post/UPS/FedEx, the delivery will all be based on their projected timelines.

Delivery Standards for Remote Areas

If the destination postal code is located in a remote area, and only Canada Post service the area(alternative options will shown at checkout if available), they may add up to 5 business days, in addition to the posted delivery time. Cold Weather Protection

Complimentary heat packs and insulations are included to protect your plants from cold damage if shipped in a box, if weather requires. Some stresses are expected, but with good light and proper watering, they will bounce back very soon.

Tradescantia Fluminensis Lavender grows quickly and naturally develops long, trailing stems, making it especially well suited for hanging baskets or pots placed on a shelf. Pinch or trim the growing tips regularly if you prefer a fuller, bushier plant — every cut encourages branching, and the removed stems can easily be rooted to fill the pot back in. Give it plenty of bright light to maintain its soft lavender, cream, and green variegation; plants grown too far from a window may become greener and develop longer gaps between leaves. Its stems are finer and more delicate than those of ‘Nanouk’, so handle them gently when repotting or arranging the plant. Avoid leaving water sitting on the foliage for extended periods, as damaged or constantly wet leaves can develop brown spots.

Tradescantia Fluminensis Lavender will thrive in bright light, but also can tolerate medium light. A good medium-light place in your home would be in the middle of a room that has a regular size window. They can be placed anywhere between the middle of the room and the window. Remember that plants will grow based on how much light they receive. Brighter light will encourage more vibrant colouring.

Water: When half dry

Tradescantia Fluminensis Lavender needs to be watered when the top half of the soil is dry to the touch. That usually takes about 1 week in an average home environment. It will vary depending on the time of year, your environment and lighting conditions, but it's always safer to underwater or give the soil a check before you water again. Expect to water more often in brighter light and less often in lower light.
